Twitter's Bird Logo Flies Away for $35,000 at Auction

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The famed Twitter bird logo, a symbol retired from the social media giant's San Francisco headquarters following Elon Musk's acquisition and subsequent rebranding to X, garnered nearly $35,000 at a recent auction.

According to RR Auction, specialists in rare and collectible artifacts, the substantial 560-pound sign, measuring 12 feet by 9 feet (3.7 meters by 2.7 meters), was sold for $34,375. The identity of the purchaser remains undisclosed.

Previously, Musk had also auctioned off various items from Twitter's former offices, encompassing everything from signage and memorabilia to everyday items like kitchen appliances and office furnishings.

Other noteworthy tech artifacts that commanded significant prices at the auction included an Apple-1 computer with accessories, selling for $375,000; an Apple Computer Co. check, signed by Steve Jobs in 1976, which fetched $112,054; and a sealed, first-generation 4GB iPhone, which went for $87,514.
